Squid Fritters/ Sotong Goreng Tepung


Assalamualaikum and Hello Dear Readers,

In this outing I am sharing with you a popular snack or finger food usually sold in Thai food outlet.The dish is called Squid Fritters (Sotong Goreng Tepung). I hope you can now prepare this at home especially during the Ramadhan. It's quick and not hard to prepare. The crusts is tasty and light and taste so good when dip in chilly sauce. This finger food is great for snacks and parties and should be served hot.

Squid Fritters/ Sotong Goreng Tepung


6 squids (clean and wash, pat dry and cut each one into 3 segments or as preferred)
enough oil for deep frying


4 tbs corn flour
4 eggs (if the eggs are big reduce to 2 or 3)
1 tbs vegetable oil
salt and pepper to taste

Beat all until smooth.


1) Place the squids into the batter. Use a fork to make sure the squids are fully covered by the batter.
2) Deep fry in hot oil.
3) Remove when the squids are golden brown.
4) Garnish with tomato and cucumber slices and serve with chilly sauce.
