Assalamuakaikum and hello my dear readers,
Another traditional sweet dish.Green Beans Sweet Porridge with Durian (Bubur Kacang Durian). The durian is optional. The Green Bean Sweet Porridge can be cooked without the durian. I love durian in this sweet porridge. This sweet porridge can be eaten with bread, glutinous rice or on its own.
Traditionally Green Beans Sweet Porridge with Durian (Bubur Kacang Durian) is served in gatherings for thanksgiving at home or in madrasah or mosque even though it is a common enough dessert. I have used palm sugar here because it is not as sweet as the regular sugar. You can use brown sugar or white sugar if palm sugar is not available. In that case you don't have to make the syrup. Just add the sugar to the rest of the ingredients and boil.
Here's the video
Hers's the recipe:

600 ml coconut milk

Method:
1) Place the boiled green beans into a deep pan or pot
3) Add the syrup/sugar ,coconut milk, pandan leaf, ginger and salt

The countdown to Malaysia Merdeka Day or Independence Day has begun. In a multicultural society like Malaysia unity among the races is key. The Malaysian movie industry has in the past tried to unify the various races in a truly Malaysian movie which at the moment is considered as Malay movie. But this type of movie although delightful to watch is not many.
However lately I saw a movie that I could say a Malaysian one. It was a comedy horror movie. What make it so Malaysian was the multi racial actors whose characters were involved in a very much Malaysian activity like invoking the spirit to give them the winning lottery numbers, right down to the multi racial ghosts.
Now you should know that the Malay has Malay ghosts and the Chinese has their own ghosts and so does the Indian la. Never would a Chinese ghost be the dominant ghost in a Malay horror movie and vice versa. But in this movie I saw ghosts that were neither Malay nor Chinese nor Indian. So I assumed this ghost must be either a Chindian (Chinese inter marry Indian) or a Chinlay (Chinese inter marry a Malay) or any other combinations we could think of.Well what can I say in the bolehland called Malaysia. Anything is possible.
p.s I have never seen an Arabic ghost. Have you?..I have seen their genies in movies and story book but I don't know what an Arabic ghost look like.
Till we meet again take care of yourself.

Greeb beans porridge (we call it Bubuk kacang Ijo) is my most favorite dish, and durian is my most favorite fruit. Combining the two of them would be great! Yay!'I never tried it, so I'll try it very soon.
